Trulicity 1.5 mg Pre-Filled Pen 2 x 0.5 ml is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is an incretin mimetic that mimics the action of a natural hormone called Incretin (a metabolic hormone that stimulates a decrease in blood glucose levels). It works by increasing insulin release from the pancreas during high blood sugar levels (after meals) and decreases the amount of sugar the liver makes. Trulicity 1.5 mg Pre-Filled Pen 2 x 0.5 ml also reduces the risk of serious heart diseases, such as heart attack or stroke in patients with type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Trulicity 1.5 mg Pre-Filled Pen 2 x 0.5 ml may be advised with or without other medications along with diet and exercise to control blood sugar levels. 

Trulicity 1.5 mg Pre-Filled Pen 2 x 0.5 ml should be administered subcutaneously (under the skin) in the abdomen, thigh or upper arm. Your doctor or nurse will guide you on how to use the injection. Your doctor will prescribe the dosage based on your disease condition and tolerance. Your doctor may start the course with a low dose and gradually maintain an effective dose to achieve the required blood glucose control.
