Symbicort 160mcg/4.5mcg Turbuhaler 60 Mdi is a combination of two drugs, namely: Budesonide and Formoterol that is used to treat symptoms of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD). Budesonide belongs to the class of corticosteroids that works by reducing the irritation and swelling by acting inside cells of the nasal lining and stops the release of certain chemicals in the body that cause inflammatory reactions. Thereby, provides relief from sneezing, runny or blocked nose and sinus discomfort. Formoterol belongs to the class of bronchodilators that works by relaxing muscles and widening the airways of the lungs. Thus, it makes breathing easier.

Inhaler/Transhaler/Turbuhaler: Shake the inhaler/Transhaler/turbuhaler well and check the label for directions before using it. Hold the inhaler/Transhaler/turbuhaler with the mouthpiece downwards. Put the mouthpiece between your teeth and seal the lips around it. Then, press down the inhaler once to release the medication. Breathe in slowly and hold your breath for 5 to 10 seconds. Breathe out slowly. Repeat the process until you have inhaled the number of puffs prescribed by the doctor. Rinse your mouth with water and spit it out after using inhaler/Transhaler/turbuhaler to avoid fungal infections in mouth and throat. Rotacaps/Transcaps/Instacaps/Redicaps: The capsule should be placed at the base of rotahaler/transhaler/instahaler/redihaler and completely twist the mouthpiece until you hear a click sound. Then, breathe in through the mouthpiece deeply and hold your breath for 10 seconds. It is for inhalation only. Do not swallow capsule. Respules/Smartules: Check the label for directions before using it. Twist the respule/smartule top, squeeze all the liquid into the nebulizer and use immediately after opening.
