It decreases the action of dopamine (a chemical messenger involved in transmitting messages between brain cells) in the brain and helps to control psychotic symptoms in Schizophrenia. Stemetil Injection 10 x 1 ml has a calming effect on people suffering from anxiety or mania. Also, Stemetil Injection 10 x 1 ml works by inhibiting dopamine receptors that stimulate the vomiting centre (chemoreceptor trigger zone – CTZ) located in the brain. Thus, Stemetil Injection 10 x 1 ml prevents nausea and vomiting. Additionally, it is used to treat symptoms of vertigo (dizziness) due to inner ear disorders such as Meniere’s syndrome or labyrinthitis.
