Fomtide 400 Octacaps 30’s is a combination of two drugs, namely: Budesonide and Formoterol fumarate used to treat asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD). Budesonide belongs to the class of corticosteroids that works by reducing the irritation and swelling by acting inside cells of the nasal lining and stops the release of certain chemicals in the body that cause inflammatory reactions. Thereby, it provides relief from sneezing, runny or blocked nose, and sinus discomfort. Formoterol fumarate belongs to the class of bronchodilators that works by relaxing muscles and widening the airways of the lungs. Thus, it makes breathing easier.

Use it as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before using it. Inhaler/Transhaler: Shake the inhaler/transhaler well. Take it daily at the same time to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body. Hold the inhaler/transhaler with the mouthpiece downwards. Put the mouthpiece between your teeth and seal the lips around it. Then, press down the inhaler/transhaler once to release the medication. Breathe in slowly and hold your breath for 5 to 10 seconds. Breathe out slowly. Repeat the process until you have inhaled the number of puffs prescribed by the doctor. Rinse your mouth with water and spit it out after using it, to avoid fungal infections in the mouth and throat. Rotacaps/Redicaps/Respicaps/Instacaps: The capsule should be placed at the base of the rotahaler/redihaler/respihaler/instahaler and completely twist the mouthpiece until you hear a click sound. Then, breathe in through the mouthpiece deeply and hold your breath for 10 seconds. It is for inhalation only. Do not swallow the capsule. Respules: Twist off the top of the respule and squeeze the solution into the nebulizer. This solution is made into a fine mist to breathe in. Inhale the medicine through the nebuliser’s mouthpiece. Use immediately after opening.
