FLUMET DROPS 5ML contains ‘fluorometholone’ which belongs to the class of medicines called ‘steroids’. It controls inflammation by acting on the immune system and decreasing the provoked immune system by blocking white blood cells (WBC) from attacking the injured site’s cells. As a result, this reduces the release of chemicals (prostaglandin) that cause pain and inflammation in the eyes. It also causes constriction (narrowing) of blood vessels decreasing the access of cells to the injury site, which helps reduce the swelling, pain, and discomfort in the eyes. 

Eye drops: Lie down and tilt your head backward. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Instill the number of drops as advised by the doctor into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes.Eye ointment: Lie down and tilt your head backward. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Squeeze a tiny amount of the ointment into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes.Do not touch the tip of the dropper or ointment tube as it may contaminate the contents. Do not place the tip directly into the eye while instilling drops or ointment. If the dropper touches the eye, immediately squeeze two to three drops onto the tissue and wipe the dropper’s tip with salt water. Also, do not share it as the use of bottles by multiple persons may spread the infection.
