Cosalic Solution 200 ml consists of Salicylic acid (peeling agent) and Coal Tar (keratoplastic). It is used to treat psoriasis and controls seborrheic dermatitis (scaly patches and red skin on the scalp). Salicylic acid is a keratolytic medicine that increases moisture in the skin and dissolves the substance that causes the skin cells to stick together thereby breaking down the clumps of keratin (hair protein), removes dead skin cells, and softens the skin. Coal tar is a keratoplastic (thickens the keratin layers) agent that causes shedding of dead cells from the skin’s top layer and slows down skin cells’ growth, decreasing scaling and dryness relieves itchiness. 

Cosalic Solution 200 ml is for topical (for skin use) only. If the medicine gets into your eyes, nose, or mouth, rinse thoroughly with cold water. Lotion/Ointment: Gently rinse the affected area with saline or water before applying the product. Pat the skin and dry it with a clean cotton towel. Apply a generous amount of lotion/ointment and spread it evenly on the skin’s affected areas to form a 1/8-inch thick layer with clean and dry hands. You can also apply it with a piece of clean cotton wool or gauze swab. Wash your hands before and after using it on the affected areas unless the treatment is for hands. Soap: Work the soap into a nice lather and apply it to the affected areas with your hands. Gently massage in circular motions and rinse off with clean water.Scalp solution/Shampoo: Apply a generous amount on the wet scalp and gently massage until it produces lather. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and repeat if necessary.
